To provide the quickest egress possible from a military aircraft to increase pilot survivability, Canopy Fracturing Systems are used to create a safe escape path in the canopy. Low coreload Mild Detonating Fuse (MDF) or Linear Shaped Charge (LSC), specified according to canopy material and thickness, is used to fracture or cut the canopy material.
