Digital Delay Elements

Description

Existing pyrotechnic delay devices utilize a pressed pyrotechnic column or metal sheathed pyrotechnic cord to perform a time delay function. To achieve far greater flexibility and improved timing accuracy, electronic digital delay elements that contain arming, timing, and firing circuitry are being developed. A digital delay offers significant improvements over the pyrotechnic delays, including timing and temperature accuracy, programmability, and longer installed service life. The initiator for the digital delay is a patented semiconductor bridge (SCB) element.
