Ordnance Delay Assemblies

Description

Ordnance Delay Assemblies interpose a predetermined fixed time between two pyrotechnic or explosive events. Typically, an explosive or pyrotechnic input is used to initiate a specially designed metal sheathed pyrotechnic delay cord. This delay cord burns at a predetermined rate, and upon the conclusion of the desired delay time, is used to initiate an explosive or pyrotechnic output charge.

Ordnance Delay Assemblies' advantages over mechanical delays include a lack of moving parts, high amount of available energy in a smaller, lighter, low-volume form factor, and a wide range of available delay times.
