Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBA&D) will be providing a live demonstration of our breaching products at the upcoming King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center (KASOTC) 4th Annual Warrior Competition in Amman, Jordan from May 2-6, 2012. Following the competition, EBA&D will be exhibiting at SOFEX, Booth #C174 in the USA Pavilion from May 7-10, 2012.

On February 23, 2012, the Boston University’s Trustee Ballroom was the setting for the Graduate Women in Science and Engineering’s (GWISE) second annual career fair and networking reception. Female students in science and engineering disciplines were educated about our company, as they inquired about our products and employment opportunities.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live.

1/11/2011 - SIMSBURY, CT - Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBA&D) is happy to announce Mr. Mike Pitcher, after many years of leading unprecedented growth at EBA&D, will become Senior Vice President at Ensign-Bickford Industries, Inc. (EBI), effective April 1, 2011. In this new position, Mike will be responsible for expanding EBI’s operational strategy and tools to drive continuous improvement throughout the corporation. With Mike Pitcher’s new role, effective April 1st, 2011, Brendan M. Walsh will be appointed President & CEO of Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBA&D). Brendan has led development of EBA&D’s most significant projects over the past 10 years and, as EBA&D’s Vice President of Engineering and presently Vice President of Operations, has worked closely with Mike and the EBA&D team to continuously lift operational excellence and customer service to new heights. Reporting to Brendan Walsh, EBA&D VP of Operations, John will have direct responsibility for manufacturing operations including safety and regulatory compliance, manufacturing and assembly, manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, and logistics . John has 22 years of experience in the Aerospace Industry, working for industry leaders like GE, UTC, Barnes and most recently, B/E Aerospace. He has a proven track record of developing lean organizations focused on meeting customer expectations and delivering to promises. John will work closely with Mr. Walsh and the entire EBA&D management team in growing EBA&D through continually improving customer satisfaction at our Moorpark site. Complementing our long term strategy, EBA&D is also proud to announce we have reached formal agreement to purchase the Moorpark, California facility, formerly headquarters and manufacturing location of Special Devices, Inc. Geoffrey Kaczynski, EBA&D’s Aerospace Market Business Development Manager, has been named General Manager of NEA and will work closely with Dan Troiano, NEA President Emeritus, to assure a successful integration into EBA&D. Geoff and Dan will report to Michael Pitcher, President & CEO of EBA&D. Advanced Armor Protection JV Launched by IMI and EBA&D

10/6/2009 - WASHINGTON, DC - Israel Military Industries Ltd. (IMI) and Ensign-Bickford Aerospace and Defense Company (EBA&D) have teamed to form a joint venture (JV) to introduce advanced armor protection solutions in the U.S. market. Harnessing the extensive experience of IMI in providing state-of-the-art armor protection, and the unique know-how and positioning of EBA&D in the U.S. Market, the new JV will offer U.S. forces a range of mature armor solutions. Roadside bombs employing Shaped Charges and Anti-Tank Rockets are posing significant threats to U.S. forces. IMI and EBA&D now have two armor solutions: Iron Wall – a passive armor system effective against small arms ammunition and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). In addition, the system defeats roadside IEDs employing shaped charges (EFP). Iron Wall has been successfully tested against EFPs and Self Formed Fragments (SFF) warheads. Breakwater – a combined (hybrid) passive and reactive armor system designed to protect against small arms ammunition, anti-tank rockets and missiles as well as heavy EFPs. Breakwater Armor modules have been successfully tested against EFPs and RPG anti-tank rockets. Breakwater and Iron Wall armor systems are fully developed and ready for integration on armored vehicles.

Located in Sterling, CT, STS is a developer and manufacturer of non-electric initiation products for military and other specialty applications. “The acquisition of STS extends Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company’s Soldier Systems product capability and strengthens both companies’ abilities to innovate and respond to growing customer demand for new, cost effective, high reliability solutions.
