03/15/2010 — ENSIGN-BICKFORD AEROSPACE & DEFENSE COMPANY COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF SPECIAL DEVICES, INCORPORATED’S

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBA&D) today announced it has successfully closed on its acquisition of Special Devices Incorporated’s Defense & Aerospace (D&A) Group, located in Moorpark, CA. Brendan Walsh, EBA&D’s Vice President of Operations, has been named Vice President & General Manager of the Moorpark location, reporting to Michael Pitcher, President & CEO of EBA&D. Over the past 2 months, the EBA&D team has been working with SDI’s D&A team to ensure that integration of the two businesses is a positive experience for customers, suppliers, and employees. EBA&D plans to maintain and grow its Moorpark operations, building upon its technical & manufacturing capabilities, expanding products lines and leveraging synergies with its Connecticut, Kentucky and Arizona operations and with its customers around the world. Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company, headquartered in Simsbury, Connecticut is prime contractor to US and Foreign Military customers, and subcontractor to many US primes.
